OTASS'S IMPORTS AMD EXPORTS SIX YEARS COMPARED The Port of Otago’s oversea exports for the year just ended were highest for the last ten years. They totalled 35,032 tons. Tho next highest which was in 1919, amounted to 33,037 tons. A table below, compiled by officials of the local Harbor Board in pursuance of tho Harbors Amendment Act of 1925, necessitating the closing of the board’s financial year on September 30 instead of December 31, shows that tho oversea and intercolonial and coastal imports, separately and collectively, are below those of 1020. Hie totals differ by 26,121 tons. Tho oversea and intercolonial and coastal exports separately and collectively are higher, and the margin between the 1925 and 1926 totals is 6.515 tons. The combined imports and exports totals of 1925 and 1926 are respectively 352,767 tons and 333,191 tons. Tho ‘ 1924 total was 341,241 tons, second highest for the six years, the 1926 total being third highest. The returns are as follows:
