Forecast. Tho Dominion Meteorologist (Mr D. C. Bates) supplied the following at noon to-day;—The indications are for westerly winds, moderate to strong, expect dull weather and fog in parts, rain probable; barometer unsteady; sea moderate swell, tides good. SAlLED.—October 19. Storm, s.s. (8.50 p.m.), 749 tons, Manson, for Wanganui via ports. Kabika, s.s. (11.10 p.m.), 1,172 tons, Whitefield, for Napier and Gisborne via ports. The Karetu was to sail at 4 p.m. lor Lyttelton and Timaru. The Wingatui was to leave Wellington to-day for Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff, and is duo here on Saturday. Tho Euton will leave Napier on Friday for Lyttelton and Dunedin, and should reach Dunedin about October 30. ' The Kabika sailed last night for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. The ICathlamba will sail to-morrow evening for Hobart and Launceston to complete discharge. The Huntingdon will arrive on October 27. The Kia Ora will leave Wellington on October 23 for London via Falkland Islands and Montevideo. THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.50 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the 12.20 p.m. express. STRATHLORNE FROM NAURU. With 6,600 tons of phosphates for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, the steamer Stratldorne, 4,330 tons, left Nauru Island on Friday. The cargo is fo” Ivcmpthorne, Prosser, and 00. The ship is duo. at Lyttelton about October 29, and at Port about November 5. THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH. Tho Canadian Government steamer Canadian Scottish, which left Montreal on September 29, arrived at Panama on October 12, and sailed again on the following day for Auckland, where she is due about November 10. Thence she proceeds to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timuru, and Dunedin. She is expected here about November 22. CORINTHIC LEFT COLON. The S.S. and A. liner Corinthic, which left Auckland on September 23 for Southampton and London via Panama, left Colon on October 14. PHOSPHATES FROM SEYCHELLES. The steamer Willesden, from Seychelles Islands, arrived at Bluff on Sunday night. The Vessel is carrying a large quantity of pbospbatic manure, of which 2,000 tons is for discharge, at Bluff. A further 1,500 tons is consigned to Lyttelton, and a similar quantity to Wanganui. The Willesden is a steamer of 4,SS] ions gross, and is owned by the British Steam Ship Company.

MAKURA’S SAILING DATE. The Royal Mail steamer Makura 19 due at Wellington from San Francisco on the morning of Monday, October 25. As this is Labor Lay, and a close holiday. the cargo will not bo worked, and consequently the vessel’s departure for Sydney has been postponed until 3 o’clock on the afternoon af Wednesday, October 27. THE MANUKA’s"tRANSHIPMENTS. ' The Union Company’s Manuka is due in the morning from Melbourne via Wellington and Lyttelton to land passengers and general cargo. Included in her freight are transhipments ex the Carignauo, Caprera, Gandara, and Nirvana. WEST ISLIP’S VOYAGE. The West Islip, which arrived to-day from P.acifio Coast via northern ports, commenced loading at Vancouver, and later picked up cargo at Seattle, Anacortes, San Francisco, and San Pedro (Los Angeles). Final departure was taken from San Eedro on September 6- Coining across the Pacific the West Islip, which last visited Auckland about five mouths ago, _ experienced moderate weather, nothing of an eventful nature occurring. On the night of September 30 the weather became very thick, and the vessel was compelled to heave-to in the vicinity of Moko Hiuau, soundings being taken at regular intervals. Next morning vivid lightning, heavy thunder, and rain were experienced. Then the conditions cleared sufficiently to allow the ship to resume her course to Auckland. The voyage occupied twentyfour days, ten hours, the average speed being 9.71 knots. Captain A. J. Larsen has with him the following officers:—First, Mr W. J. Feren; second, Mr H. Brown; third, Mr F. Berendsen; chief _ engineer, Mr L. A. Gender; first assistant, Mr G. J. Bowersock; second, Mr 6. 0. Cook; third, Mr S. P. Folsou; wireless operator, Mr G. R. Peck; chid steward, Mr S. B. Hindi. The ship is to sail on Tuesday for Bluif and Hobart to finish unloading. THE lONIC’S MOVEMENTS, The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advises that the lonic, which has been delayed in loading operations on the const owing to bad weather, is now timed to sail from Auckland at daybreak on Wednesday, October 37, tor Southampton and London via Panama. THE CANADIAN COMMANDER. Messrs H. L. Tapley and Co. fceport that the Canadian Commander is nowdue at Dunedin on October 26 from Montreal via northern ports, to discharge a quantity of Canadian cargo and load dominion products for New York.
