BRITISH MAVAL EXPEDITION MARSHAL ID’S PLAHS RECAPTURE OF HANKOW. Press Association—Bj Telegraph—Copyri"bi SHANGHAI, September 10. _ It is reported that a second expedition will-leave Hankow for Wanhsion immediately on tho arrival of tho Hawkins for tho purpose of effecting the release of further British vessels which have been commandeered by the Chinese. Details disclose that tho first expedition was replete with heroism. The rescue of six officers was especially daring. Wanhsien is believed to have been destroyed by lyddite shellfire. Many of the inhabitants are dead. The ships of all nations are the targets of tho Chinese soldiers on both hanks of the Yangtso. Several casualties on the American gunboat Stew-art are reported as the result of a conflict with General Yang-son’s troops. A message from Peking states that Marshal Wu Poi-fu is preparing to recapture Hankow, with the assistance of tho Shangtung troops. Marshal Sun Chuan-fang is rapidly advancing to attack the Canton esc who have entered his territory. There has been little fighting since the fall of Hankow. International co-operation has been strengthened as tho result of the Yangtso events.
