A letter from the Unemployment Committee being received, it was decided to reply that on account of tho fire at Wingatui a number of men will be employed, and tnc work of reconstruction will be undertaken as soon as possible. This should assist the committee in its difficulty. In connection with the Spring Meeting to be held on October 14. and IG, it was decided that the first race start at 12 and the last at 5.15 p.m. Messrs Hanlon, Christie, Draper, Goughian, and Dr Hall were appointed the Judicial Committee. A meeting of the council of the Now Zealand Athletic Association last night decided to write to all the centres and ask them if they would agree to a tour of the American athletes Roland Lock and Harold Osborne, the holders of world’s records. Lock is one of the most brilliant sprinters in the world. Osborne is an all-rounder and holds the world’s record for the high jump, and was the winner of the Decathlon at the last Olympic Games.
