COMMENT BY THE JUDGE,
LONDON, July 31. In dismissing the appeal by the Newcastle miners who were sentenced to imprisonment for periods ranging up to nine years for attempting to derail tho “Flying Scotsman,” Mr Justice Avory said the penalty was not excessive for such a diabolical crime. He said that perhaps Nemesis w’ould overtake those who, according to the prisoners, were the real culprits.
