NIAGARA DELAYED, A cablegram from Suva states that the Niagara, which was timed to leava Suva at noon yesterday for Auckland in continuation of her voyage from Vancouver, did not sail until 7 p.m., having been delayed by engine trouble. REMUERA LEFT CURACAO, The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Remucra arrived at Curacao on August 11, and sailed on August 12. The liner left Southampton on July 30, and is due at Wellington ou September 4. ■ SITTANG LOSES PROPELLER. The C. and D. Line’s chartered single-screw steamer Sittang dropped her propeller when about eight miles off Otago Heads while en route to AVestport (for bunkers), thence Ocean Island to load phosphates for Australia or New Zealand. The vessel left Dunedin at 3.4 0 yesterday afternoon. The tug Dunedin responded to a wireless message for assistance, leaving Fort Chalmers between 8 and 9 o’clock last night to tow the Sittang back. _ At 11.30 this morning the Sittang arrived alongside one of the Port Chalmers wharves, and she was expected to be drydocked at Port to have a new propeller fitted. AATRRAL DDE ON TUESDAY, The latest report of the New Zealand Shipping Company about the Wirral is that tho vessel is now expected on Tuesday, Tho Wirral left Montreal on June 4 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Hobart, and arrived at Auckland on July 24. OBITUARY. The late Captain G. Holford, who died suddenly last week while ascending the hill to Ins home at Vavau (Tonga), was well known in New Zealand. He was for many years a master in the Union Steam Snip Company’s service, and traded for some time lietween Auckland and the South Sea Islands before being appointed to tiie position of harbormaster at Vavao.
