The last act in the Wesley Church Queen Carnival campaign was staged in the schoolroom last evening, when the proceeds of the effort were handed over to the treasurer of the trust. The room was crowded, and a happy and grateful atmosphere pervaded the whole meeting. The Rev. W. B. Scott was chairman, and after a community sing a short programme was gone through. Songs were' given by Mrs Richardson and Mr 0. E. Service, violin solos by Miss Sparrow and Mr J. White, recitations by Miss Duncan, and suitable items by the competing queens, Mr W. H. Johnston the balance-sheet of the carnival, whidi showed a credit of £4OO, and amidst loud applause handed over a cheque for that amount. Mr J. B. Shacklock, in acknowledging tin sum on behalf of the trustees, expressed satisfaction and pleasure at the result of the campaign, and supplemented it with his promised cheque. Including the £IOO raised by the Epworth stall, the trust funds have benefited during the past year to the tnne of £6OO, which he considered mast praiseworthy. The Rev. O. S. Ream added his congratulations, and the meeting closed with a comprehensive vote of thanks to all the workers, special mention being made of, the leaders (Mr and Mrs Scott), the parents of the queens, the conveners of the several committees, and the energetic secretary (Mr C. 11.
