TUBERCULOSIS
THE SPAHLIHGER TREATMENT AUSTRALIAN DOCTOR'S INQUIRY A VALUABLE SERUM. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Press Association.
SYDNEY, August 13. (Received August 13, at 9.40 a.m.) . The report to the State Government by Dr M‘ln tyre Sinclair, who visited Gcnevg last year and made a close inquiry into and an examination of M. Spahlinger’s treatment for tuberculosis, states: “As tho result of my own personal investigation and examination of tho cases treated by M. Spahlinger’s serum I am of the opinion that hb has discovered a remedy of considerable value, and that every reasonable endeavor should ho mads to obtain the scrum for use in certain types of tubercular disease. M. Spahlinger’s vaccine is -without a doubt a valuable remedy, but it does not, in my opinion, teach us anything wo did not know before. In the production of anti-toxic serum M. Spahlinger succeeded where others failed. It is true that the serum has its proportion of failures and that its administration is in many cases not unattended by discomfort and even occasional danger, but, taken all over, it appears to have many remarkable successes in cases of tuberculosis, even whero other known methods of treatment have failed. In ray opinion, it makes 'a distinct stop forward in the treatment of this disease.”
