Some indication of tho Governments intentions regarding the business to bo completed this session was given to tho House by tho Prime Minister, who promised to bo more explicit next week. _ ~ He intimated that the House would begin to sit on Mondays from mxt Monday week, and that tho first of these sittings would bo devoted to any local bills which are ready. Tho Prime Minister replied that the Minister of Lands had the clauses a ell in hand. , Sir Joseph Ward was more definite. “What is the date of the end of ihe session?” he asked. “ The date has not yet been fixed, replied Mr Coates. “We have a lot of work, and at the moment I cannot possibly estimate it.” Mr Holland (Leader of the Opposition) inquired if the Government v.oukl follow the plan of the late Mr Massey in leaving the House to carry on after the Prime Minister’s departure for London.
