Y.W.C.A. FAIR

With the object of raising £IOO to be devoted to the World Fellowship Fund for Y.W.C.A. work in India, China, and Japan, a nursery rhymes fair was opened this afternoon in the Y.W.C.A. Hall. The stalls, which wore plentifully laden and bore good testimony to the work being done by the various departments to make the bazaar a success wore decorated to represent various nursery rhymes. Mrs W. B. Taverner (vice-president of _ the Young Women’s Christian Association) welcomed Mrs J. Sutherland Ross, the president, and expressed their delight at seeing her about again after her recent illness. The fair was then declared officially open by Mrs Ross, and business throughout the afternoon w'.as brisk. The stallholders were as follow:—Board of Directors, fancy and produce stall.,- Pioneer Chib, orange and lemon stall; .Hostel Girls, children’s clothes’ stall; Girls Department, pie cart, sw-eets, fancy goods, and children’s clothes’ stalls; Wide Awake Club, art stall; Extension Department, Paddy's market; Overseas Club, bag stall." During the afternoon musical items were rendered by Masses M. and G. Martin. The fair will be continued this evening, and the Albion Orchestra I will render selections.
