Kilda Borough Council, pursuant to the powers vested in it by “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, will, a.t a Special Meeting of Urn Council, to be held in the Council Chambers, St. Kilda, on MONDAY, the 12th day of July, 1926, make a.nd levy the following Rates for (lie period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1926, and ending on the 31st day ' of March, 1927—namely, I A GENERAL RATE, under Section 77" of “The 'Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” of Four Pence and Five-eighths of One Penny (4 5-8 d) in the pound (£) ou tho Rateable Value on the Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property in the Borough of St. Kilda. I A SPECIAL RATE, of Five-eighths of j One Penny (5-8 d) in the pound (£) will ba, j as usual, levied and collected to provide interest on Municipal Loan. _ SPECIAL RATE.—Tho annually recurring Special Rato of One Penny and Three-sixteenths of One Penny (1 3-16d)' in the pound (£) on tho Rateable Value nu the Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property within Ihe Borough of St. Kilda, of which Seven-eighths of a Penny j (Jd) will bo levied aiid collected to pro- : vide, for a sinking fund on loan and interest on amount borrowed of the said loan. A HOSPITAL RATE, under Section 41, Sub-section 9, of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909,”, for the year commencing Ist April, 1926, and ending 31st March, 1927, a Rato of One Penny Halfpenny fljd) in the pound (£)l on the Rateable Value on tho Valuation Roll of all Rateable Property within the Borough of St. Kilda. WATER RATE, under Section 84 of ■ “Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” in respect to Ordinary Supply: (a) "Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied a Rato of One Penny and Seventenths of One Penny (1 7-10 d) in the pound (£) on the Unimproved Value, not ! exceeding tho equivalent of a rate of one penny in the pound (£) on the Capital Value of such lands and buildings, but so that where such a rate would be less than ten shillings (Ids) a rate of ton shillings (10h) shall be made and levied. (b) ! Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not, supplied, situated within one hundred yards of the water works, a Rate not exceeding one-half of the rates mentioned above. (c) On all buildings used as stores or warehouses or any purpose other than as dwelling-houses, a. Rato not nxeeeding ono-balf of the rates mentioned in Paragraph fa) hereof. The usual charge of Ten Shillings (10s) will ' bn made for each water closet in private houses, and in hotels Four Pounds (£4) for tho first and One Pound (£1) for each other. GENERAL SEWERAGE RATES under “The Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Act, 1900,” and Amendments thereof, for the period commencing on tho Ist day of April, 1926, and ending nn the 31st day of March, 1927, as follows:—-(1) Upon every sewered property, a Rale nailed the General Sewerage Rate of Three Pence and Seventeen Twenty-fifths bf One Penny (3 17-25 d) in the pound (£) on the Unimproved Value of such property. (2) Upon every unsowered property a Rale of Ona Penny and Twenty-one Twenty-fifths of One Penny (1 21-25dl in the pound (£) on the Unimproved Value of such property. The above Rates are PAYABLE IN ONE . SUM and in each case on the 26th Day of JULY, 1926, at the Office of the St. Kilda, Borough Council, Town Hall, St. Kilda. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the VALUATION ROLL is OPEN FOR INSPECTION by all persons concerned, at the Town Herb's Office, St. Kilda, between the hours of 9 o’clock a.m. and 5 o'clock p.m. Daily, but on Saturdays between the hours of 9 o’clock a.m. and 12 o’clock noon.
