SUPPER DANCE
Following on the popular Saturday afternoon tea danee, which was well attended to-dnv, there will be another of these delightful supper dances winch have become an institution at the Savoy. There is scarcely need to explain what the dances are, bub merely to remind those who love an evening_s thorough enjoyment that ‘ to-night is the night.” The announcement that the usual facilities wifi be forthcoming is important in view of the fact that the Savoy organisation in that respect is known to be as near perfection as it is possible to reach thnt point in the Southern Hemisphere. A big factor is the music. The new Savoy band has proved itself, and patrons of the various dances so far held this season have emphatically declared it “ the best yet.” The latest American advices are to the effect that dance bands are no longer mere “jazz-clash” dispensers. They plav in more subdued fashion, but with plenty of life and vim when occasion demands. The musicians at the Savoy are up to date in this, as in all other respects, and their music ; superadded to the beautiful surroundings and the general atmosphere of comfort and delight, make a Savoy dance night something worth while.
