Sir, —In support of your leader of Wednesday, will you publish the following? in ‘Life 5 for this me»th appears an article by Mr Ellis Barker, in which he states that two Ajpericaus do as much work as five English, and he proves it by the undernoted figures taken from Government census papers: —ln the year 1907 the United Kingdom emploved in industries of all kinds G. 019,746 workers, whoso products were valued at £1,617,240,000. In 1909 private industries in the United States employed 6,615.046 workers, whose products were Valued at £4,134,421.000. This, I consider, is the secret of the prosperity of the United States, and if not altered may bring the downfall of Iho British Empire.—l am, etc., Nem. Dis. June 11.
