SONG AND PIANO RECITAL
Students and music-lovers in general should welcome the opportunity which Miss Med a Paine and Mr Max Scherek are affording them next Saturday at tho Burns Hall of hearing songs and piano compositions, many of which have not previously been publicly performed in Dnnedm. For her first two numbers Miss Paine will draw on tho classics, choosing songs by Robert Franz, Schumann, Schubert, Hugo Wolf, and Richard Strauss. Modern composers will be represented by Alec Rowley, Armstrong Gibbs, and Frank Bridge. Air Scherek will play works by Beethoven and Schumann, also Brahms’s variations and fugue on a theme by Handel, while the accompaniments will ho played by AUss Mary Frazer. Arrangements have been made to have the hall specialty heated for the occasion.
