WEDDING

St. Aidan's Church, South Invercargill, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Thursday, June 3. The contracting parties were Miss Catherine Anne, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Bridges, and Air Lewis Donald, eldest eon of Mr and Airs j MTver, Dunedin. The church was very ! prettily decorated hj girl friends of the j bride, gold and white chrysanthemums I taking the foremost place. The ceremony was conducted by tlm Rev. G. Hurd. The bride, who was given away bv her father, looked charming in a simple frock of ivory charmante, with flared skirt of silk shadow lace, the point of each flare being caught up by tiny sprays of orange blossom. Her tulle veil, beautifully embroidered, was caught to her hair with a coronet of oragns blossoms, finished on either side with dainty clusters. Silver brocade shoes and a pretty shower bouquet completed the toilet. She was attended I by her sister, .Ruth, as bridesmaid who looked very dainty in a frock of ivory silk shadow lace, the only trimming he- : ing tiny silver blossoms, caught at each side to form a low-waisted effect, a small drooping hat In ivory brocade, white shoes and stockings, and shower bouquet. The bridegroom was attended by his brother lan as best man. On the parties entering the vestry to sign the registrar, the lley. G. Hurd presented the couple with a beautiful Bible to commemorate their wedding, it heing the first in the new church. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the bride’s residence, where breakfast was laid. Mrs Bridges received her guests in a dull hluc inoracain frock and small black satin hat to tone. Mrs MTver, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a frock of powder blue crepe de chine, relieved with fawn trimmings, fawn and blue hat to match. The bride’s travelling dress was of Madonna blue rep, with godets and piping of wino crepe de chine, smart hat to tone, and fur coat. Their future homo will bo in Dunedin.
