A curions instance of the period of time between two brothers was revealed in a French court some months back. A witness was asked if he had any brorher alive. He replied: “My only brother died 160 years _ ago.'’ Few would consider this anything but a joke without knowing the facts. However, he explained that his father married when he was twenty, and had a eon. who died in infancy. His wife died soon after. The father married again when he was seventy-seven, and had a son (the witness), who was ninetythree a little while ago.
