The strike in the metal, engineering, and mining trades has been settled, the disputants having agreed to accept the special commission’s proposal embodying a reduction of 17 per cent, on the wages agreement which expires on January 31 next.—Reuter. [Thirty thousand men were affected by a strike which occurcd last month in the metal, engineering, and mining industries of Sweden. Proposals made by the Government were accepted by the employers, but rejected hy the workers.]
