OCTAGON Harold Lloyd’s latest comedy, ‘ Girt Shy,’ will be shown for the last time toruight at the Octagon Theatre. It tells of a bashful young man, who is an apprentice to a tailor in a small country town, Ho imagines ho knows women, and so writes a book called ‘ How To Make Love.’ The fun becomes fast and furious when be meets Miss Mobyna Ralston, and falls hopelessly in love with her. But ho is too shy to admit it. After many humorous incidents ha forgets his shyness, and resorts to caveman methods. TO-MORROW’S BILL.

Alice Torrv and Lewis Stone have the principal roles in ‘ Confessions of a Queen,’ Victor Seastrom’s latest production, which will be the principal feature of an attractive programme to be presented at the Octagon Theatre to-morrow. ‘ Confessions ’of a Queen’ is adapted from the celebrated nouol by Alphonse Daudet, ‘King in Exile.' Too story is full of the glamor of European royalty, and is replete with plots and counter-plots so beloved by foreign writers. The settings are deserving of a word of praise, being beautiful and artistic, and fully worthy of the story for which they are the background. Lewis Stone is seen ns a monarch whoso small kingdom is beset by revolutions resulting from the evil machinations of a band qf secret plotters. His apparently hopeless marriage appears to bo less'dreary than before when he finally comes through his many troubles in safety. The Octagon Concert Orchestra will play a special musical programme, EMPIRE The ' Knock-out ’ is to have final disclosure at the Empire Theatre to-night. Milton Sills is cast in the principal role, that of a prize-fighter who goes into the Canadian northwoods. There he has manv stirring adventures. Mrs Wilfred Andrews will sing the popular waltz song ‘ Always.’ ‘ THE AMERICAN VENUS.’

* Tho- American Venus 1 is to have initial showing to-morrow at the Empire Theatre. The thqme of the story is a beauty contest staged by a group of artists who arc desirous of finding a modern American Venus. The personalities who become involved in tho tangled skein of the plot are a small town girl, who outers the contest to help boost her father’s complexion creams, her press-agent lover, and a rival beauty cream manufacturer and his son who attempt to defeat her ambitions for selfish business reasons. In addition to the bathing beauty shoiy, the picture boasts a magnificent fashion display, in which some of New York’s loveliest mannequins wear the latest modes before tho camera. This fashion show, as well as the series of eristic tableaux, which is another lavish feature of the production, were filmed in color. The leading roles in ‘The American Venus ’ are portrayed by Esther .Ralston, Lawrence Gray (who was Gloria Swanson’s loading man in ‘ Stage Struck’), Ford Sterling (noted film comedian), and W. T, Benda (the internationally famous artist). QUEEN'S AND KING EDWARD ‘ Broadway Gold,’ the amazing adventures of a chorus girl in search of adventure, will be screened at the Queen’s and King Edward Theatres tonight. To-morrow Fred Thomson has the leading role of ‘ That Devil Quexnado.’ .He is a picturesque figure on a snow-white horse who plays havoc with feminine hearts, laughs at villains, rides like the wind, and lives in a mountain fastness from which he occasionally rushes down into the town to kidnap a fair maid or right a grievous wrong. The story is from tho pen of Marvin Wilhite, and contains a fine cast, headed by Silver King, who might well be co-starred with its famous master. Gloria Hope is a charming heroine. The other principals include Nola Luxford, Albert Briscoe, Bryon Douglas, Joseph Bell, Alan Roscoe, and Robert Cantiero. EVERYBODY'S ‘ The Trouble With Wives ’ will receive its final screening at Everybody’s Theatre to-night. Florence Vidor, Tom Moore. Esther Ralston, and Ford Stirling are in the leading roles of this comedy. The supports are headed by Hope "Hampton and Conrad Nagel in ‘Lawful Larceny,’ the story of a wife who loses her husband to a modern Cleopatra. PLAZA AND GRAND A virile romance of the soa is told in ‘ Wreckage,' at tho Plaza and Grand Theatres, whirl) has May Allison and Holmes Herbert in the stellar roles. Also showing is ‘ The Denial,’ the story of a. mother who tried to choose her I daughter’s husband.
