Changes in the Government Life Insurance Department are that Mr Henry Hose, accountant for the past three .years, is promoted to be secretary, and Mr 11. S. Manning, formerly office examiner, succeeds Mr Eoso.—Press Association .
Guests at the Hotel Carlton include Mr G. G. Ralston (Quebec, Canada), Mr S. P. Graham (Sydney), Mr C. J. Hao (Auckland), Sir D. A. Cnrly (Wellington). Mr 11. 0. M'Farlane, who has for many years been connected with the A.M.P. Society in .Napier and Auckland, has been appointed district manager for the Norwich Union Life Insurance Society for Otago and Southland, and has taken np his residence in Dunedin.
