SOUTHLAND RACING STATISTICS.
The past season has not been a good one for Southland racing clubs, but compared with some of the northern racing districts it has little to complain of. The total amount given in stakes was 5£31,769, and the totalisator investments. £339,606. The figures for the previous season were £32.345 and £358,947 respectively. The following tables show how this large sum was divided: —
