After having been imprisoned under a floor for twelve days without food nr water, a black cat belonging to the Rev. Charles Playfair, of Charlton Rectory, Dover, was rescued alive. The cat must have hidden under the floor when some hoards were taken up to allow the electric cable to be piit in. Eventually (he rector heard a mew coming apparently from beneath the floor in a front room ; lie raised a, board, and the cat crawled out. It was very thin, hut drank some milk and ate a little fish, and is going on well. '
