EARLY EXHAUSTION’OF TRAIN
ACCOMMODATION,
[Special to tub ‘Star.’]
TIMARU, April 21
Two special trains will leave Tim am on Saturday morning for the Exhibition, arranged for respectively by the Timaru Scottish Society and the Freezing Works employees. It is estimated Unit these trains will carry at least 2,000 passengers. .Tickets for the firslj-named train were made available yesterday, and within two hours all were sold; whilst hundreds are still clamoring for scats. The latter train is iilling rapidly, and it seems highly probable that ail seats will bo sold this afternoon.
Owing to tho phenomenal rush for tickets and tho early exhaustion of seats, country people are barred from participation in the excursion, and unless tlio 'Railway Department puts on an additional train or trains it is inevitable that large numbers of would-be visitors will be disappointed.
It is understood that representations have been made to (.he department for additional accommodation, but that scarcity of rolling stock stands in the way, although multitudes still hope that this will ho overcome.
