ST. PATRICK'S CONCERT

Patrons of St. Patrick’s .Day concert, to bo held in His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow night, will be afforded a unique opportunity of hearing an excellent exposition of harp playing. Miss M. Gravett, of Auckland, a performer of outstanding . ability on the ancient and national instrument of Ireland, who is on a visit to Dunedin, has very generously offered her services for the occasion, and her performance will he of special interest. Tho instrument on which she plays cost no less than £SOO. In other respects tho programme to be presented eclipses the high standard set at this annual concert, and includes items by St. Joseph’s Choir, under the baton of Mr A. Vallis (winners of the recent Choir Contest). By special request the Competition selections will he rendered. The programme is also rich in vocal items, and gems of Irish melody will be rendered bv tho leading talent of Dunedin. Mr" Bud Wills (cornetist) will play, mid Mass Beulah King and her pupils will present Irish jigs and reels. The concert makes a double appeal in that, while commemorating St. Patrick’s Dnv in a fitting manner, it also has a charitable and educational purpose, as all the proceeds are being devoted to tho Catholic education fund.
