Mrs Vernon Tate (formerly Lady do Clifford) says that she is surprised and shocked at her son’s marriage. She is consulting her lawyers, believing that her consent to the marriage is necessary until her son is twenty-one years of age.—A. and N.Z. Cable. [Edward Southwell Russell, Baron dc Clifford, was born in 1907, and succeeded to the. title on the death of > his father two years later. The title is a very old one, having been created in 1299. The family estates are in County Mayo, Ireland.]
