Scott (New Zealand) made a disappointing showing against Van Dyk. the referee intervening in the eighth round to save him further punishment.

Tim Dutchman had the upper hand throughout, piling up points with right and left hooks to the head and body. Scott, who was downed in the first and fifth rounds, fought hack grimly in the sixth, but ho was bring rapidly. Jn the eighth ho was downed again with a, right to tho jaw, and the referee stopped tho light. Scott was not in his best form, hav« ing had a severe lime reducing weight.
