TO WASH COLORED HANDKERCHIEFS

Colored handkerchiefs soon lose their daintiness by careless washing. When colds are prevalent they should be soaked in cold water in which some soap has been dissolved. The addition of a little salt to the water is also a good thing. Leave them a few hours, and then wash in warm soapy water by gently squeezing;. Do not ieb hard. Soap powders should not be i t ed, as they are inclined to make Die handkerchiefs lose their colors. Ordinary yellow soap is the safest to use.
