Stranae experience dogged the footsteps of Robert T. Lincoln, son of the groat I’residcnt. As a young soldier ho arrived from tire war to resume tnc at tho White House, only a few c ays before the assassination of Ins father. Ho was present at that tragedy.. Never since that day has lie discussed it. Ho refrained from attendance at the Drinkwatcr play because it contained the assassination scene.. Then, as a young Government official, ho vaat the depot to meet Gaifield when ho was shot. Fate continued to follow him, for tho day lie visitccl the Pan-American Exposition at BulFalq, President MAlvinley was shot. This is surely a chain of experiences that would be hard to duplicate.
