Oats. —Business in this cereal still remains quiet. A tew samples have come to hand, but buyers have been verv backward’ in their offerings. We quote: A Cartons, 4s; B Cartons,. 3s Od. on truck (sacks extra). Wheat.—Buyers have been operating fairly freely during the past week, and a large quantity of now season’s wheat has been sold at 7s per bushel on truck, botli north and south. In the meantime fowl wheat supplies are being drawn from Canterbury. Chaff.—Prime quality chaff is saleable at £6 to £6 5s per ton (sacks extra), but there is absolutely no demand for medium and inferior grades. Supplies are fairly plentiful, and arc quite sufficient to meet local requirements.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report : Oats.—-Very few samples are offering, and the demand Is easier. Nominal values are as follow:—A Cartons, 4s; B Cartons, 3s 9d per bushel (on trucks). Wheat.—Stocks of fowl wheat are low, and there is a good demand for the small quantity offering. Chaff.—Consignments arc light, and there is a fair demand for prime quality at quotations. Medium and inferior grades are not inquired for. We quote: Prime oaten sheaf, £6 to £6 ss; inferior and medium, £3 to £4 10s per ton (sacks extra).
