While the Rhine, the Waal, and the Mouse have fallen, the River Wsel has attained a record height. One thousand persons have already been rescued from attics and roofs, but many arr still awaiting rescue. Many lost all their possessions. Queen Wilhelmina visted the military barracks at Erie, where many flood victims, mostly women and children, were sheltered. —Renter. DAMAGE IN RHINELAND. AMSTERDAM, January 7. Immense damage has been -lone by the floods in the Rhineland. The damage to the harbor at Dnsseldnrl is estimated at 1,000,000 marks. Fifteen firms in the vicinity have claimed 867,000 marks. The claims already entered at Coblenz exceed 2,000,000 marks.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
