£139.602,000 PRODUCED UP TO END OF 1923 The following facts and figures, supplied by Mr H. W. Mobsby (commissioner of the Queensland Court) in regard to the great mineral wealth of his State, are of no little interest: — Up to the end of 1923 the value of aO minerals produced in Queensland aggregated £1.39,662,348, of which the 19,910,320 ounces of fine gold secured accounted for £84,573,610. The total area of proclaimed gold and mineral fields in 1923 was 49,966,455 acres. Tho following are the statistics in regard to the production of minerals during tho year ending December 31, 1023; Gold, 88,726 fine ounces, value £376,883. Silver, 469,302 ounces, value £69,412. Copper, 6,242 tons, value £430,746. Coal, 1,060,662 tons, value £925,227. Arsenic, 610 tons. Cobalt, 217 tons. Limestone, 95,153 tons. Lead, 5,487 tons. Fireclay, 7,399 tons. Gems and opals, value £23,809,
