4. AMERICA’S DEATH ROLL HUNDRED LIVES LOST. NEW YQRK, December 26. A hundred sudden deaths occurred in tho chief American cities during Christmas, which was ono of the coldest ever recorded throughout the Eastern and Middle Slates. Five aged men were fennel frozen to death in different parts of Chicago today. ... < r , Sixty lost their lives in motor accidents, and a dozen died through drinking bad liquot.
There were fewer Christmas tree fires than were recorded for the past twenty years, because of the substitution of electric, bulbs for tho old-fashioned candies.
GLASGOW GIRL KILLED. TOBOGGAN STRIKES GOALPOST. LONDON, December 27. A girl, Isabella Kci r, aged thirteen years, was riding on a toboggan in Queen’s Park, Glasgow, when she crashed into a goal-post and was killed. Tho toboggan was her Christmas present, A Paris message states that a young man, in evening dress, after boisterously participating in the Christmas festivities at a night, club, , called a taxi-cab and was driven to a river bridge. There, he paid his faro, shook hands with the driver, and leaped into tho Seine.
ACROBATS’ FATAL TURN
TRAGEDY IN 'BRUSSELS
LONDON, December 27
Two Gorman acrobats, who were performing a “death jump” in a Brussels show, missed the trapezo and fell among tho spectators. Both (ho acrobats were killed, while many of the spectators were injured.
