SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) STOLE TEACHER’S PURSE.' A boy ten and a-half years of age was charged with the the-’t- of a purse arid contents of a total value of £2 7s, the property of Elizabeth Mary Calder. Senior-sergeant Quartermam said that the boy took bis teacher’s purse from a desk. Constable Macartney discovered that tho lad bad been spending money freely and he taxed him witxi tho offonco. _Ho denied it at first, bui later admitted that ho was tho culprit. His homo and school records were good. Mi- J. I/ock (Juvenile Probation Officer) stated that tbo_ offender had been spending money lavishly for some time, hut ho would not admit that he had been involved in any other thefts b\ides the present one. Tho case was adjourned for twelve months, the boy to be under the supervision of Mr Lock during that period. RIDING ON FOOTPATH. A boy fourteen years of age pleaded guilty to a charge of having ridden a bicycle on tho footpath at Green Island. Senior-sergeant Quartermain said that two other boys had also been caught riding on tho footpath and would make their appearance later on. The magistrate _ after pointing out the dangers of riding on a footpath said he would dismiss the information. CHILD COMMITTED. A child whose parents were shown committed to tho Caversham Industrial school, to be brought up in the Roman Catholic teligion.
