ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FATAL FALL FROM CART. Patrick Hehir, aped 73 years, a farmer at Taikorea for forty .years, died from a broken neck, tho result of a, fall from a. cart while he was assisting to load hay yesterday afternoon—Palmerston North message. ELEPHANTS’ ATTENDANT HURT. Joseph Stevenson, single, about thirty years of age, whilst leading elephants belonging to AVirths’ Circus at Balclutha yesterday, was knocked down by a motor car. He sustained injury to a wrist and a cut on the head, and was admitted to tho Dunedin Hospital for treatment. Ho is somewhat better to-day, but it is doubtful whether or not a small bone of the wrist is fractured.
