EMPIRE 1 New York is the locale of ‘lnto the Net,’ tho picture which opened yester- \ day at the Empire Theatre. The story centres round Bob Clayton, his sister Madge, and his fiancee, Natalie Van Cleet. Clayton first tries to find his sister, who lias mysteriously disappeared. and then tries to prevent the abduction of Natalie. He finally assists in the rescue of both. Edna Murphy plays the part of the sweetheart, and Constance Bennett is cast in the role of Madge_ Clayton. Richard E. Enright, Commissioner of the New York Police, wrote the story. The supporting cast has been well chosen, and includes Bradby Barker, Frank Lackteen, Frances Landau, Harry Semols, Thomas Goodwin, and Paul Porter._ A selection from ‘ The Bohemian Girl (Balfc) is played as an overture by th< Empire Orchestra. PLAZA AND GRAND Mae Murray’s latest picture, ‘Circe iho Enchantress,’ is showing at the Plaza and Grand Theatres. ‘Circe the Enchantress’ is an original story by Vicente Blasco Ibanez. Ibanez bat based bis story on the mythical god* dess Circe, who, according to legend* of that time, had the power to turn men into beasts. This legend has been transferred to the screen in all its colorful detail. In the real story Miss Murray is a modem Circe, who is likened bo the goddess of the legend. But there is one man who refuses to he swayed by her powers, 1 Don Daredevil,’ a Western adventure drama, features Jack Hoxie, and is the second film on this programme. EVERYBODY’S Mary Pickford has the part of a twelve-year-old daughter of a popular New York policeman in ‘ Little Annie Rooney,’ her latest release, now at Everybody’s Theatre. She is the leader of a band of rough-and-tumble, dirtyfaced youngsters, and has a secret infatuation for Joe Kelly, a truck driver. QUEER'S Two fine films are showing at the Queen’s Theatre. ‘ Every Man’s Wife ’ tells the story of a wife who is led to believe that her husband is unfaithful to her. Sho immediately welcomes the attentions of another man, and_ it is not until a friend brings the wife to her senses that the tangle is straightened. An unsual love story is disclosed in ‘ His Supreme Moment.’
