MOSUL’S FUTURE
THE .LEAGUE'S DECISION FEELING IN TURKEY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 17. Tho Constantinople correspondent of ‘ The Times ’ says that tho Press describes tho Mosul verdict as unjust and valueless to Turkey, who must solve the problem herself. “ The only redeeming feature of the decision is the fact that it exposes to the whole world the imperialistic mentality of Europe,” declares tho newspaper ‘Ak Cham,’ which demands to know “how much the Powers voting have been paid for, their unjust verdict.” The newspaper ‘ Diurnhuriet ’ not only attacks the League, “which,” it says, “ought to be scrapped in favor of a new League based on real equality and possessing real authority and ideals,” but says “the whole mandatory system is nothing bnt a farce destined to legitimise tyranny, slavery, and usurpation.”— ‘The Times.’ EARLY SETTLEMENT FAYORED H AST ENiNG A RIIANGEMENTS. LONDON, December 18. Mr L. S. Amory lias returned from Geneva and will meet the Cabinet this morning. The Mosul debate will take place in the House of Commons on Monday, and Parliament will be prorogued on Tuesday. The ‘ Daily ‘Telegraph’s ’ diplomatic correspondent states that tho Government intends to hasten the Iraq treaty and obtain the approval of tho respective Parliaments for submission to the March Assembly of the League Council, when f.he award can be confirmed three months ahead of the time limit. An early settlement is felt to he desirable. inasmuch as tho climatic conditions in Anatolia do not favor any Turkish military demonstration before April.
