REFORM CAMPAIGN LEADER WILL TOUR DOMINION [Per United Press Association.] OAMA.RU, October 5. The Prime Minister has decided to make a tour of the dominion in support of his policy. Ho will make the opening speech of his campaign at Oamaru on Thursday night. ' THE SOUTHLAND SEATS. [Special to the ‘Star.’] INVERCARGILL, October 6. Mr George Edie, who is announced as the National candidate for Wallace, is the owner of Birchwood fetation, in Wallace County, having gone there from Arrowtown about four years ago. Tie has been a member of the Ohai Railway Board, but otherwise has taken little part in public affairs. Mr William Hinchey, of Bluff, is now announced to sttincl in the National interests against the Hon. G. J". Anderson for Mataura. He has occupied many public positions during the past fifteen years, and was chairman of the Southland Electric Power Board during the earlv stage of the work. Ho is a good platform man, and is well known in "the district. Ho is considered likely to give the Minister a good run. Sir Joseph Ward held his first mooting last night, and formed a strong committee. Ho has been giving the electorate his close personal attention during the past week, and the result has been to greatly improve his position. Messrs P. A. Do la Perrelle and Adam Hamilton’s chances in A want a and Wallace respectively are improving every day, and both are likely to be” returned with big majorities.

Mncphcrson, the sitting member for Oamaru, opened bis campaign at Ngapara last night, when he ■was recorded a good hearing. He strongly supported the policy of the Nationalists. Hall Skelton, the National candidate for Roskill. He said there was a now era of Liberalism dawning. He. would vote with any nartv that would put the Reform Government out. Ho considered the Liberal and Labor Parties should have got together long ago on common points. ELLESMERE. CHRISTCHURCH, October 6. In opening his campaign last evening Mr J. Connolly (Nationalist candidate for Ellesmere) said that the finan dal position of the dominion was bad, and men were needed in Parliament to deal with it efficiently. The Reformers did not have in their rante anyone who gave an indication that lie was a Ballad or a Seddon, and their policy was making Red Feds. The candidate advocated a reduction of taxation on necessaries,' and urged the establishment of an agricultural bank. He.-was accorded a vote of thanks and con fidence.,
