MOTOR FATALITY
CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER [Per United Press Association.] NELSON, October 2. L. W. Field, the driver of the motor car in which the late Nurse Hunter was a passenger at the time of the accident (which resulted in her death) on the Wail tic a road on Saturday evening, was nrrfistcd this afternoon and chaiged with manslaughter. Formal evidence was ta.ken at an inquest on Tuesday, and the court adjourned to this afternoon. , . The Magistrate said it appeared to him the better course would ho to suspend the inquest and go on witli tlio present charge. Mr Treadwell (for the accused) asked what was the specific charge. The police said it was driving at an excessive speed at a dangerous portion of tho road. . Evidence was taken this afternoon, and the court adjourned till to-morrow to hear further evidence.
