LADIES’ PIPE BAND
RETURN VISIT A piper cam’ ta.e oor toon, The piper o’ Dundee. We have improved on the old Scottish song. For it is not one piper that has come to “oor toon,” hut eighteen of them, and they possess a charm the piper o’ Dundee could never boast of, ior they are all of the fair sex, and constitute the first Ladies’ Pipe Band tho world has known hitherto. They do not come from Dundee, of course. They hail from tho great commonwealth across the Tasman, and are taking a breather in Ngav Zealand before setting forth on a tour of the world. They arirved in Ncav Zealand a few mouths ago, and have toured the dominion Horn Auckland to Bluff, receiving everywhere the plaudits and the honors, from civic receptions to private hospitality, thoir merits deserved. A bonnier-faced hand of Australian Scottish hisses, under the capable direction of Drum-major Darwin, F.R.G.S., could not be found anywhere, and tho programme of song, dance, and pipe music which they present is such as has won the highest praise from Press and public wherever they have appeared. The programme will bo a completely now ono, and tho public are assured of a fine evening’s entertainment with the bright Scottish Australian lassies. They appear at Burns Hall on Thursday for a season of three nights.
