(Received August 21, at 11 a.m.) The secretary of the Now South Wales Rugby Union, commenting on the season just closed, said that it has been most satisfactory, and had been better than that of last year, the visit of the All Blacks was not so successful as in the previous season, owing to the disappointing display by the homo players, except in tho first match. UNIVERSITY CRICKET. SYDNEY, August 21. (Received August 21, at 11.30 a.m.) Tho Australian Universities’ Sports Association is endeavoring to arrange a match between a selected Australian universities’ cricket eleven and a New Zealand universities team. Ihe game will not bo placed on tho official programme, but it is expected that it will be played in December. The game would give tho undergraduates an opportunity of winning the coveted Australian Universities’ Sports Association “blue.” SWIMMING. SYDNEY, August 21. (Received August 21, at 11.30 a.m.) The Australian swimming authorities have been informed by Weismuller that be is unable to accept the invitation to visit Australia in 1925-26 season.
