AUSTRALIAN CONTROL ATTACKED BETTER UNDER NEW ZEALAND. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. MELBOURNE, August 20. (Received August 21, at 1.30 a.m.) The House of Representatives debated a rnotiem by Air V. G. Thompson (New South Wales) for a Royal Commission to visit and inquire into the position of Norfolk Island, which is under Commonwealth control. Air Thompson said that the islanders were neglected by the Commonwealth Government, and wore hostile to the present aclmnistration, and wished to belong to Now Zealand, which was nearer, and provided a better market. Mr Thompson urged the Commonwealth Government to hand tho island to Now Zealand. The debate was adjourned.
