NEW CRICKET CLUB
HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS About twenty High School old boys met in the Returned Soldiers’ Association’s social room last evening to discuss the matter of forming a cricket club. Mr E. Webster (chairman) said that the old boys of the school wanted a club, but many ex-pupils were absorbed by other sports. Only exscholars of the High School would be eligible for membership of the club. Mr W. Brinsley said that he thought such a club would improve cricket in Dunedin. There would be little difficulty in its formation', though there was” sure to be some opposition. He added that the question of getting a ground would be simple, and then moved that a club be formed. Mr A. W. Alloo seconded the motion, saying that there was no reason why an Old Boys’ Cricket Club should not be the strongest in Dunedin, for the school was the nursery. Some of the best cricketers with the senior clubs wore ex-pupils of the Otago Boys’ High. The motion was carried unanimously. Officers as follow were appointed pro tem.Secretary, Mr H. EHarraway; . Provisional Committee— Messrs E. Webster, W. R. Brinsley, L. D. C. Groves, C. A. Latimer, S. Duncan, G. Dickinson, H. Cunningham.
