BANNED IN IRELAND DENUNCIATION BY THE CHURCH. Press Association-By Telegraph— Copyright. LONDON, August 17. The Belfast correspondent of the ‘ Dailv Express 1 says that, as a sequel to recent scandals at Blackfoit and other seaside resorts, which were denounced in numerous pulpits, the Archbishop of Armagh, who is the head of Roman Catholicism m Ireland, has banned dancing. He sent a message to the diocese that he would excommunicato persons frequenting all-night dance halls, and asked the priests to continue their denunciations of dancing until the abuses were stopped. Father Buttorby declared at Dundalk that modern dancing was unfit for participation by anyone. I arents should drive from the house children who would not stay away from dances. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
