CHARGE OF MURDER
WOMAH’S BODY IK FIELD MAX COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. LONDON, August 1. Kdwin Manns, a footballer, has been committed for trial on a charge of the murder of Mrs Laura Alice Ryan, who was reported missing for some days and whose bruised bodv was discovered in a field outside Christchurch, Hampshire. Airs Ryan’s husband is at present working on the Sydney tramways. The police read a statement in which Maims was alleged to have said that, enraged at Airs’Ryan’s, threat to tel| his wife because he had refused further demands for money, ho struck her on the head with a bottle, throttled her, and rolled her body under a hedge.
