The Gale is listed to sail to-night for Oamaru, Timaru. and Lyttelton to complete loading lor Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. The Kaiapoi will sail to-morrow for Lyttelton to lift additional cargo for Auckland,

The Wingatui, owing to the shortage of berths at Lyttelton, will not leave till this evening. She is due at Dunedin to-morrow afternoon, and to sail on Monday for Bluff.- The vessel will return here on Thursday to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland.

The Holmdale should arrive to-night from Port Chalmers. To-morrow she will he fumigated, and on Monday she will sail, after loading, for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, 'Wellington, and Wanganui. The Opihi is to leave Nelson to-mor-row for Dunedin direct. .She is due on Monday morning to load out for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington. New Plymouth, and Nelson. The ‘Willaston, timed to arrive tomorrow from Continental via New Zealand ports, is to sail next week for Bluff and New Plymouth. The Waikouaiti will leave Timaru on Monday for Bluff and Melbourne via this port. She will leave Dunedin on Tuesday. The \Vaihora loft Sydney on Wednesday for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Pearlmoor left Lyttelton at 4 p.m. yesterday for Port Chalmers. The Breeze’s arrival from Lyttelton is mow fixed for Monday, and general cargo will he unloaded and taken in, and the vessel will sail in the evening for Wanganui via ports. The C. and D. liner Port Melbourne to leave Liverpool on October 1(1, with Glaegow and Liverpool cargo, will visit Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The IT.S.S. store ship Arctic arrived at Port Chalmers at 8.80 a.m. from San Francisco with supplies for the American fleet. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a an. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the 12.20 p.m. express.

BLUFF HARBOR CHANNEL. Since the steamer Pakeha struck a rock in the channel numerous complaints have been received by the Bluff Harbor Board, and on Tuesday the board commenced the first of its operalions in clearing the channel. All tho rocks likely to impede the movements ol ships have been located, and these are to bo blasted down at soon as possible. The first obstruction which received attention was a largo rock on the shore side of the channel, supposed to be. the one which the Pakeha fouled. Tins wa.s a comparatively t-a.-y rock_ to remove, as it was only a pinnacle, being surrounded by deep water, so that no dredging operations will have to bo earned out later. Tho work commenced about 6 a.m.. but tho rock was hard to locate, and it was 2 p.ra. when the charge was exploded. The actual results ot this work will not bo known until tho diver has an opportunity to ( descend again. THE 11 ARTFIELI). Laden with sulphur from Texas, the tramp steamer llartficld arrived at Auckland on Sunday, and commenced discharging tho local portion of her cargo on Monday. The ilartfiold arrived at Galveston from Norfolk, Vir- i ginia, and loaded all her cargo at that port. On July 1 she took iier departure for Auckland, and passed through tho Panama Canal on July 9. Fine weather was experienced in tho Pacific until towards tho end of last week, when strong westerly gales and rough head seas were encountered. Although severely buffeted, tho freighter came through the storm without damage. Tho Hartliold is owned by the Wood- ; field Steamship Company,' of London, and is commanded by Captain R. CARGO FROM ISLANDS. The Union Company’s Island steamer Tofua arrived at Auckland a few days ago to land passengers, mails, and a cargo of 14,000 cases of bananas, 1,600 cases of* tomatoes, as well as other Island produce. At 11 a.m. to-mor-row the. vessel will bo despatched again for tho Islands.
