(Received August 12, at 1.30 a.m.) The Miners’ Delegates’ Board is sitting at Newcastle considering the serious position which has arisen following the refusal ot the Pelaw Main minors to work the air turbine machines unless the rates and conditions concerning the working of the machines are first determined by the Coal Tribunal. The tribunal refused to hear tho claims unless the machines were worked, and the men, in refusing this, ignored the advice of tho leaders of the Miners ’Federation. If the Delegates’ Board fails to arrive at a solution and tho men’persist in their attitude, it is considered 'that a general mining upheaval may result. The feeling in thc_ district is very strong, and many miners’ lodges are urging the calling of aggregate meetings to determine what action shall be taken. THE BOARD’S DECISION. CONFERENCE AT SYDNEY, SYDNEY. August 12. (Received August 12, at 1.35 a.m.) The Miners’ Delegates’ Board at Newcastle decided that the president of the Northern miners’ branch of the Miners’ Federation and a delegate from the Pelaw Main branch shall meet tho Central Council of the Coal Miners’ Federation in Sydney on Wednesday to formulate a policy for submission to members for ratification. The president of the Northern branch, in addressing the Delegates’ Board, said that if the light was to take place the minors’ forces must _he solidified. The question of disciplining tho Pelaw Main Lodge or taking other action is to bo left for the conference at Svdncy to decide.
