C, Bates) supplied the following at noon to-day:— The indications aro for southerly winds, moderate to strong prevailing, freshening; weather cloudy to overcast, rain probable, and snow on high country, and weather will probably become colder; barometer rising; sen considerable on the coast, tides high. ARRIVED.—August 11. Calm, s.s. (5.20 p.m.), 802 tons, Sharpe, from Wanganui via ports. SAILED. —August 1.2. Ngakuta, s.s. (8.45 a.m.), 1,775 tons, Knowles, lor Timarn. Port Dunedin, motor ship (9.40 a.m.), 7,463 ions, Hutchinson, for Lvtteltou.

'Physa, s.s. (11 a.m.), 3,899 tons, MacDonald, for Bluff.

The Calm will sail at 10 p.m. _ for On mam, Tiraaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Hie Rimutaka is to sail to-morrow for Svdnev. The Phvsa sailed this morning for Bluff and" Auckland to discharge the balance of her case oil cargo from

- ,'gapore. The Kaiapoi was to leave Bluff today for Dunedin. Sue should arrive to-morrow, and after discharging a part cargo of Walpole Island phosphates she will load for Lyttelton and Auckland. The Katoa will sail to-morrow for Oilman;, Tiniani, LytceHon, and Auckland. I The (’. and D. Tune's now motor ship Port Dunedin left this morning for Lyttelton and New Plymouth with the remainder of her London cargo. The Gale is due to-morrow night from Lyttelton to load for Timarn, Lyttelton. Wellington, and Yvanganui. She will sail on Thursday.

The Waitomo should leave Melbourne early next week with general cargo for Bluff. Dunedin, .Lyttelton, and Wellington. The Opibl is in leave Nelson on Saturday lor .Dunedin direct. She will load on Monday for Now Plymouth and Nelson via Oamaru, Tirmiru, and ’Wellington. the Waihora, from Newcastle, was to leave Sydney to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin.

The Kahika will leave Wellington tomorrow for Dunedin. She will load out on Saturday for Napier and Gisborne via Oamaru, Timarn, and Lyttottou. The Breeze, duo on Friday, will sail the same day for Wanganui via ports. The S.S. and A. Arawa should leave Port Chalmers to-morrow for Timarn tor further Homeward loading. The Wingatni left Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is expected here on Friday, and to leave for the southern port the same day. The vessel will return early next week to load for Timarn, Lyttelton, Wellington, ami Anrklnml. The Pearimoor, still delayed ni Lyttelton, is now due on Friday to discharge Nauru Island phosphates. After discharge she_ will dock at Port Chalmers for scraping and pointing. The Romeo is scheduled to arrive on Friday from New York via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. SCHOONER iL K. HALL. [Pep. United Press Association.] AUCKLAND. August 12. Advice lias been received by the owner’s representative that the fivemasted schooner .11. K. Hall, from Newcastle to Callao, arrived at its destination on Monday, having been delayed by gales.

THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.45 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with, the 12.20 p.m. express. LEAVES LIVERPOOL FOR NEW ZEALAND. According to cable advice received by the Federal Line agency, the steamer Devon left Liverpool on August 8 cargo laden for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. About September 23 she will reach Auckland, and about October 10 she should arrive hcie, COMING FROM THE EAST. The Union Company advises that the Waikavva is due at Bunbury about Saturday from Singapore and Samarang, to complete loading for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. She is duo at this port about August 31. THE CANADIAN BRITISHER. H. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the Canadian Britisher arrived at Auckland at 5 a.m. to-day from Montreal. Sim is due at Dunedin on August 22 (alter visiting 'Wellington and Lyttelton) to discharge general Canadian cargo and to load wool, rabbitskins, pelts, and general cargo for New York, Boston, and Montreal. The steamer will commence loading at Lyttelton, and from Dunedin will proceed to Wellington and Auckland. She will sail finally from the latter port on about September 1. RARAKGA LEAVES LONDON. The steamer Raranga loft London on August 8 with general cargo for discharge at Suva, Fort Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Timarn. She is duo at this port about September 24. AMERICAN STORE SHIP. To-morrow the United States naval supply ship Arctic is duo at Port Chalmers from San Francisco direct with supplies for the_section of the American fleet at Dunedin. The Arctic, which carries no guns, is of 12,000 tons displacement, is the largest vessel of the division to come south. Her personnel consists of twenty-three officers and 18S men.
