NORTH END BOATING CLUB

THE ANNUAL REPORT The annual report of the North End Boating Club states: — Tho season commenced with a credit balance of £7 Ms Bd, and finished with a credit balance of 8s ,'ld, alter spending £(34 Us mi one new lonr-oarcd practice boat (boat costing £(>() and charges on Same £-1 11s) and £2l on oars and sculls. These are also in the shed in perfect condition, and may be counted an increased asset. 'l'hc chib was represented at the following regattas;—Macandrcw’s Bay, Blulf, Bavensbouruo, Port Chalmers, Otago Bowing Association, and Portobello, and were successful as follows: Second maiden fours, Macumlrew Bay; second junior double sculls, Bluff; first maiden fours, Bavcushounic; second maiden fours, Port Chalmers; .second junior double sculls, Port Chalmers; second maiden fours, 0.8. A. regatta; second maiden pairs, 0.8. A. regatta; first (dead heat) junior double sculls, 0.8. A. regatta; first maiden tours, Portobollo; first junior fours, Pnrtobello. The club also filled many third places, winning in all £22 in prize money, also the Maiden Cup; and great praise is duo to the maiden crew for iho strict training they did. The boats are in good condition, and with a little repairing will ho in firstclass order for opening day. The shed is also in good order, the staging being repaired during the season by the club members. The retiring committee, having been successful in replacing one new boat in the club fully paid for, decided to put a sister boat on order, subject to its action being endorsed at tho annual meeting.
