Potatoes.—Owing to the continued wet weather and inquiries from the North Island merchants, the market has firmed to the extent of 10s per ton on last week’s prices. Messrs Dalgcty and Company, Ltd., report as follows: —Oats: The market during the week has remained lifeless, and quotations are only nominal—A’s 3s 6d (on trucks). Wheat; Practically all growers’ stocks are now in millers’ hands, and consequently the market is quiet. Fowl wheat continues in good demand at 7s Id per bushel (ex truck). Potatoes: There has been a much stronger inquiry for potatoes, especially good, sound, well-graded lines; and values have firmed. Prime tubers find a ready sale at £6 10s per ton. _ Cbaff; The demand, although not particularly strong, is sufficient to absorb all aond quality lines coming forward, and the price for these lots is unchanf»od. Medium and light lines can be quitted only at considerably reduced values. We qubte; Prime oaten sheaf, £5 to £5 ss; medium, £4 to £4 10s; light and inferior, £3 to £4 per ton (sacks extra).
