WORKING IN BED
Different ’writers demand different conditions under which to write; but Noel Coward can, I think, claim to be the only one of our contemporary dramatists who writes bis plays while in bed (says “Gadabout," in the ‘Daily Chronicle”). _ Ho tells mo that ho docs practically all Ms writing in bod in the morning, and never dictates, but writes everything down himself. Many people wonder how Coward, «s well as playing in ‘The Vortex,’ manages to find time to write so many plays; but he is a remarkably quick worker. ‘Fallen Angels' was written in five da;.% and his new play, ‘ Easy Virtue,’ did not take him much longer to produce. He has also just finished a. new comedy, which lie hopes to sec pul on in London, before be leaves, in September, to play in ‘The Vortex’ in New York.
