At the opossum skin auction sale held in Dunedin on the 24th inst, there were 19,813 skins offered, out of which 4,827 were passed. The skins sold (14.986) brought on an average 10s 4)d each. As there is one shilling royalty and 5 per cent, commission to come off the proceeds, the trapper would receive on an average 8s 9d clear for his skins. The few North Island skins that were offering sold at an average of 8s each, which will bring the price to the trapper down to 6s 6d. SALES ON ’CHANGE: THIS DAY.
